Chicago

We had fun in Chicago! The top picture is my window washers at the Hancock Observertory, and the bottom one is Olivia and Deacon at the Rain Forest cafe.

We left Sunday morning and got there about 1. We checked into our hotel, which was in the heart of downtime, and started walking. We walked Michigan Avenue down to Hancock Center and went up to the 94th floor to check out the view from up there. The kids really liked the looking part, but the waits to get up and down were not so much fun. Deacon was tired, so when we had to wait 45 minutes to get on an elevator to go down he was not a happy camper. After that we walked to Navy Pier. Deacon ended up falling asleep on that walk, so we let Olivia go down to the beach at the edge of Lake Michigan and walk in with no sandles. She thought that was really neat. I knew if Deacon had been awake we couldn't have done that because we would have been chasing him into the water, he has no fear. We ate and went back to our hotel. We took the kids to the pool. Deacon kept trying to get over to the deep end. He was relentless. We had fun though. We swam for about an hour, then went back up to the room, bathed and went to bed. Today we walked all over Chicago, took the walk along the shoreline to the Shedd Aquariaum. That was really a neat place for us and the kids. We walked back to our hotel and walked through Grant Park and the Millemiem Park (not sure on that spelling), then got back to our hotel with 2 sleeping kids. We loaded up and headed home. We were going to go to the zoo, but we decided to let them sleep and head home a little early. We were home about 6:30. We have stuff left to do the next time we go!
